Thousands of visitors flock to the cliffs every year. Slieve League forms part of the international Appalachian Trail which includes Ireland, Northern Ireland, Britain, Europe and the United States and Canada. It covers 3,100 kilometres of trail. A tall mountain of nearly 2,000 feet, precipitous on its northern side, has been devoured by the sea till the southern face forms a precipice likewise, descending on this side right into the Atlantic from the long knife-edge which forms the summit.
The traverse of this ridge, the ”One Man’s Path”, is one of the most remarkable walks to be found in Ireland – not actually dangerous, but needing a good head and careful progress on a stormy day…The northern precipice, which drops 1,500 feet into the coomb surrounding the Little Lough Agh, harbours the majority of the alpine plants of Slieve League, the most varied group of alpines to be found anywhere in Donegal.
I am a fully qualified and certified local and national tour guide with five years of experience in the tourism sector. I am a native of Teelin where the Slieve League cliffs are situated. I have a wealth of knowledge of many local area including history, folklore, way of living and culture of the area.

This is an excellent way to see Slieve League cliffs. Theresa hives a very good guided tour and the walking us very easy on a tarred road to the view points. It is also interesting to learn things from the other people on the guided walk. The views even on a dull day were spectacular. Theresa's stories and information were fascinating. It was a great experience, well worth the money.

We had a brilliant time visiting Sliabh Liag with Teresa. She was so friendly and shared great knowledge and folklore about the area. Even the walk up to the cliffs was stunning. The goodies and coffee at the end was a lovely welcome treat:) Would recommend to book this experience with her.

This is much more than just a guided walk round the cliffs. Teresa is extremely knowledgeable and has close family ties to significant local history. As well as seeing the best the cliffs have to offer you will learn so much about the local area and local history. Well recommended
